Default Throw out Bearing toast****what to expect

My throw out bearing finally did me in today. Sgueling like a pig but was able to get home after wheeling. After inspecting I seen ball bearings through the vent slots on bottom of bellhousing. What do I need to expect when I have someone replace my clutch and bearing. Will shaft be toast as well. Im a little nervous. I have a buddy replacing for cheap for me. Willl I be ok to driver over to his house without any more significant damage?

Assuming your pilot bearing is still intact, and your clutch has not blown apart yet, your shaft should be ok. Just make sure to replace everything while your in there, no point going that far and having to do it again in 20 or 30k miles for a worn out clutch. A good heavy duty clutch pack should come with a new slave cylinder, pilot bearing, etc.

Thanks for the reassurance!!! I have Clutch kit on order and will have flywheel resurfaced. I trust my friends brother in law as he just replaced all gears in his front in and rebuilt his transfer case, all not easy feats. To get me back on the road quick I am just having all replaced minus the slave. That is easy to replaced and is more accessible. Going to replace myself in a few more weeks. I should be ok to drive about 12 miles to his house to drop off, but the sound of murdering pigs is really loud and annoying.
