Im wanting to put some Hella Black magic lights on my stock front bumper. But I'm not sure how to mount them. Smittybilt has one that mounts behind the license plate for $20. Would this be better than spending $70 for quads brackets. These will be used in addition to my high beams as driving lights on rural roads. Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated.

I want those lights bad! I think they would look good on your jeep as well as mine but I would rather put them on my windshield mounts with $30 brackets.. IMO those are the way to go it seems. If you do get them please post pics!

I think they would look good on the windshield as well. But it would be illegal to use them on the road of I do that. Trying to add a different look and some extra lighting.

Lol here in Oklahoma it would be fine unless I was shining them in someone's face on he highway. Just treat them like high beams and turn them off for oncoming.. That's what I do.

I had mine mounted on a pre-runner bar on the front. Just kept them wired into the switch they came with. I think I used them once and the rest of the time the covers stayed on. The one day I drove without the covers a rock got one and cracked the lens. Nothing bad. The black magics are pretty durable. Texas the laws are the same. Don't blind people and usually cops don't care.

I'm actually selling them now, but don't want to thread jack.

I'm sure I saw a thread on here about someone using a shower handle bar bedlined black and using that as a less than $20 light bar.

My preference is the windshield mount however keep in mind you will get a lot of glare off your hood when using them. I've gotten used to it but the brightest thing in your field of vision is going to be your hood.

I got the new lights mounted last night. Hoping to get them wired today. Thanks to Mister Ed for the lights.

Looks good! Good talking with ya yesterday. Thanks for clearing out all of stuff! Now you just need to sweet talk her into a spiderweb sun shade!

Thanks. The only problem is that after getting the entertainment center we had to go and get new speakers. There went the money.
