Default Bumpsteer and Death wobble are making me losing my mind

Well, another question about BS and DW.

I know what it means and I know the steps to cure it, but somehow I can't get it right.

A year ago I lifted my JKU with a 4" teraflex set with adjustable arms and also added 37" tires.

What happened since;
- I got the Jeep aligned, but they didn't do a good job.
- I experienced BS and DW, so I adjusted the toe-in a little and it was much better, but not like it should be.
- After some useful info I added a drag link flip kit (EVO). And the Jk drove great, absolutely like it should.
- I took the JK to another garage and asked them to do a correct alignment. Driving home from the shop I immediately noticed the BS was back again.

What to do now?
- I checked all the arms connected to the front axle and there is no play. Except for a little on the draglink (pitman arm side).

- The alignment should be correct, but please check the results;
Left:
Camber -0.46
Caster 2.49 (but I adjusted the control arms already and gave it more)
Toe 0.02

Right:
Camber -0.52
Caster 3.52 (but like I said already adjusted)
Toe 0.06

What other options do I have? I don't like driving my JK now.

Have you swapped the stock 14mm for some 9/16ths?
Have you checked for ovaling of track bar holes?
Have you checked your ball joints?
Tires balanced?

Also people have ran a little toe out to help.
no play on the track bar, besides the play in the bushings. Track bar is new from last year 6000 miles on it.

Don't know about the bolts. I used the ones that came with trackbar

Trackbar and axle mounting holes are ok. New dynatrac axle (6000 miles).

Tires balanced, but they used the method like they do on trucks. The weight they used is a little hollow tube like thing with little balls inside. The balls set themselves while driving. I have to say I have no balancing issues, so that works. I did call the company before and asked them if my problems could have anything to do with their balancing method. They told me that no customer had ever complaint before.

The toe in method helped me before, but I would rather try using the correct specs first.

Thanks for your info

Today I put a camera beneath my front bumper and drove the car around. Plenty of bs and dw during the drive when hitting putholes. I came to the conclusion that I absolutely have no play on both ends of my trackbar or ball joints.(as said the bushings give a little)

I also measured the caster and it's roughly 5.7°.

Anybody has any ideas except giving it more toe out?

You don't have to have play in your components for it to cause a wobble, my trac bar was under torqued by about 10-15 ft lb and it caused a wobble, not full blown death wobble but I would suggest checking all to bolts and nuts in the front end for proper torque

I had death wobble yesterday with the camera aimed at the trackbar connections. Everything was shaking, but the trackbar was not moving in the brackets. I recorded it, I'll try to post the video's.

The strange thing is; I had the smoothest ride before bringing it to alignment shop. Had more toe out and the axle was not completely straight beneath the Jeep, but it drove perfect.

Take your steering stabilizer off. Not that it's part of the problem, but it's masking what is. With it off you will have a better feel of what's causing the positive feedback. After that, go to this thread and read the checklist.

Just wanted to share these short video's. First video axle side mount trackbar with death wobble. Second video only BS, but no play on either sides.

Also, I think my trackbar and drag link are aligned. When I jump up and down on my front bumper the steering wheel doesn't turn.

I'm thinking it's in the wheels, but they were also on the Jeep before, when it drove very smooth.

OK still trying to search for the source of my problem. It appears that the bumpsteer already starts at a very low speed when driving, isthat normal?

Again a short movie. I was in the parking lot driving the Jeep through a little hole with the right front wheel.

Also a pic of the axle front. I think my track bar and drag link are reasonable in line, what do you guys think?Click image for larger version

want to bump this up, I'm having the same issues, and it looks like we both have the same trackbar and draglink flip kit. did you wind up fixing it? or at least getting the ride bareable?
