Not sure how it happened but my tailgate and spare tire carrier have been damaged . The spare tire was pushed in on the passenger's side causing the tire carrier to be cracked in 2 places, and the tailgate to be pushed in bad enough that there is damage noticeable on the interior portion of the tailgate. Luckily enough I can still close the tailgate but i am not very fond of the new dent on my prestine JKU!

Please let me know if you have either a spare tire carrier for sale, but more importantly if you or someone you know has a tailgate available. I know this is a rather odd request but with the lack of JKs at the junkyard and the 500$ to get a barebones tailgate online, is causing me to give this a try first.

That's horrible!! Sounds like someone pulled a hit and run. Sorry to hear this. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Where I am any claims made while vehicle is parked don't count against you for increased premiums (you weren't driving so how could it) and I pay a little extra on my policy so I only have a $100 deductible.

 

I got rear-ended and cause similar damage.. Repairs were around 400..

 

Thanks for all the insights, offers, and well wishes. I am working with my insurance agents and body shops to get estimates and decide what way to go. If only the TeraFlex tire carrier was available I would jump on that in a hot second.

someone hit my bumper w/TC the only reason i know it happened is the cb ant. got pushed into the tail gate putting a indent in it. im sure the person that hit me got alot worse

 

I'm am hoping that whoever wussed out and left the scene left with some serious damage. Then again in my neighborhood I couldn't tell what ghetto cruiser is the culprit.
