Default Hankook Dynapro MT Tire Pressure

Yesterday UPS delivered my new set of wheels and tires courtesy of Discount Tire Direct - 33 x 12 .5 x 15 Hankook Dynapro MT tires mounted on polished MB72 wheels. They look great but when I mounted them I noticed that I was getting a pretty strong pull to the left when going down a straight road. I figured maybe the tire pressure was off on one of the tires so I checked the pressure in the tires. I found that they were shipped with 50psi on each tire.

50 psi seems really high to me and I was curious what psi others are running these tires at. These are my first MT tires so I dont know if that is normal or not.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I would suggest you start dropping the tire pressure incrementally. 45......see how it rides........40....see how it rides........35 see how it rides.

Maybe even 30 psi. but that's it.

My guess is 35 psi

If none of that works, then you got problems.

50 psi is probably whatever they either blasted into them to seat the bead or some arbitrary number they have so no one can buy their tires, mount them, and then later say they had a tire shred and/or an accident due to underinflation.

My guess from other vehicles is you'll be near 30psi. Drop to 40 or so and then do the chalk test, adjusting as necessary. I've had fullsize Chevy trucks on similar sizes and none were over 30psi.

My buddy is running them on his xj. He is at 20 psi. I would guess about 25 for the jk.

Thanks for the responses. I came down to 40psi and it quit pulling left so I feel better about the tires already. I will take them down to 35 and do a chalk test to see if they are making correct contact and keep going from there. Great looking tires in any case.

I run my 295/75/16's at 35psi, they are a bit stiff, but it seems to be keeping the tread wearing even. Its a Great tire!
