Default Question about rim and tire size?

I have a 2010 jk and am in the process of purchasing a lift kit, tires, and rims. I'm trying to decide which size tires and rims to go with. I am putting a 3.5 inch lift kit in and switching to 4.88 gear ratio in both front and rear. I'd like to get 35 inch tires ( 35x12.5x R17).

1. How do I match the rims to these tires? Do the rims need to be 12.5 inchs wide as well?
3. Can I use the stock rims in this application?
2. what are your thoughts on back spacing? What is the proper space to go with?

I've been shopping on line and am having so much difficulty finding and matching the tire and rim sizes I am looking for. Maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing or I'm looking in the wrong places. So I figured I'd ask the people who'd know.

Thanks for the input!

FAQs has some info for you to start out with

For a 12.5 wide tire you typically need an 8.5 to 11 inch wide wheel. Most are 8.5 - 9
Backspacing should be no more than 4.75
Stock wheels are 7.5 wide with a 6.25 backspace, so a 1.5" wheel spacer will be needed to run the stock wheels (4.75). Its up to you if you want to run stock wheels and spacers. Some people do it, some people don't.

1. No, IF you ever plan to Off-Road (or really in general) you'll want an 8-9" wide wheel. 8's look better in my opinion. You DO NOT want a 10" wheel. IT will make the tire look square, weigh more, cost more, etc.

2. Sure but you'll need some spacers (Spidertrax 1.5" are something like $100/set)

3. 4.5" doesn't rub on mine w/ 35x12.5's
