Default rancho lift kits

anyone here running the rancho 4 in kit on their jeeps and care to comment about the ride or quality of the lift? just saw on 4 wheel parts that if you buy one of their kits and include 4 rancho shocks you can get 400-500 cash back on mail in rebate? good deal?

depending on the kind of wheeling you do, it's a great entry level kit that get you up on 4" of lift and without sacrificing your ride quality. the price simply cannot be beat.

I'm curious as to how it does on sand. can it soak up high speed stuff. I'm guessing it won't, but anything designed for it is going to cost a ridiculous amount of money (coilovers, prerunner, etc)

Default Rancho 4" Lift

Plenty of discussion and info already in these threads -

So far, I'm happy. However would rather have the new adjustable trackbar.

I would base it on what size tire you're wanting to run.. with the Rancho 4" kit I had 35's and there was still plenty of room to run a 37" tire. I sold the springs and picked up some OME springs (kept everything else on) and am much happier with ride and height.

However, WOL has told me many times (as I am in the market for coilovers and probed him about them many times)...the only way you can go "stupid fast" is with double throwdown
Hey, sorry I didn't get to this earlier, the find all posts was broken. Unfortunately I am one of those people that likes to go "stupid fast" on the dunes, so I am hesitant to take my jeep out at all (No money to fix something if it breaks). If I did put the money down for the double throwdown, I'm still not quite sure how the 3.8 would do moving all like 2 1/2 tons of vehicle through loose sand at high speeds. To understand where I get my need for speed from you should probably know that I ride a raptor 700r on the dunes (and yes it is scary-stupid-fast) The HP to weight ratio of a raptor 700r and a stock jk is laughable (with our mods we're making about 52hp at the rear wheels on a 400 pound quad). Any problems getting yours up to speed? And do you ever use 4hi on the sand?
