Default 6.1L Hemi JK auto trans shift issue

Transmission works for a couple sec then looses "D" & "OD" and does not respond to throttle for downshift.....after turned off and restarted problem goes away for a moment it will shift and come alive through all gears then again it reverts back to sluggish behavior with no "D" & "OD"....if flushed tranny dropped pan and replaced filter....5-45RFE RWD/4WD automatic transmission, for those that haven't heard of the motor swap but know enough about that dodge transmission to give me a direction to go, thanks for the help....

I think you would have more luck on a SRT forum since not much of us have done this conversion :/

Sounds like your transmission is going into limp mode. I have seen a couple valve bodys go bad in the 5-45RFE which had caused the trans to repeatedly go into limp. Could also be a bad output speed sensor, or if you serviced it recently that could be the cause. Hard to diagnose without it being in front of me. Do you know if it is throwing any codes, active/stored?

This sounds like a tuning issue, not a mechanical one....whose kit did you use?

second that. take it in and get it checked at a transmission shop. you dont wanna mess with it yourself. I have the complete 545manual for myself. trust me, you cant fix it without some techie tools.

Thanks for the tips and I'm crawling all over this thing looking at wiring and everything else making sure connections are good...took to three different service shops for tech plugin and the dealership and nobody's getting any codes, the main plug that plugs in in front of shifter on driver side for solenoid doesn't have a latch to the plug end so I don't know but with out that latched snug maybe my connection is bad....waiting on a latch to cancel out that issue or hopefully solve the problem.....please keep advice coming
