Default Need better tires

I need some meatier tires for my stock 2012 JKU. Have 17" rims. Do I need to level the rake first? Can someone recommend a beefier tire for the Stock set-up of a 2012 Sport S?

you should be able to run up to a 33 on a stock setup, it may rub a little. or you could always just go with a 32. also depending on how much you wheel a set of 1-1.5" wheel spacers so you don't have to worry about rubbing. as for brand of tire that all matters on personal opinion and price range

You'll get all kinds of recommendations on this one. I like the Hankook Dynapro MT's. They're stock size on my 2.5" lifted Jeep. I'll get bigger ones next time.

I ran 33x12.5 Pro Comp A/T's on 17x9's w 4.5 BS on stock suspension. It would rub a little when flexed but not that bad and not very often. Here's an old pic.

If you're up for going to 15s, you can get wheels and tires for almost the same as tires for 17s

I'm just biased though I love big sidewall

I ended up installing a Teraflex leveling kit and went with 285 70 17 ( 33") Nitto Trail Grapplers.
