Default Nittto or Toyo

All right, I have a couple of hours to make the decision.

Bumping up to 37's and I am either going to get Toyo Open Country MT's or Nitto Trail Grapplers.

The price is nearly identical (Toyo's are $10 more per tire)

The Toyo's are an inch wider at 13.50". I currently have 35' toyos and they are 12.50's. So I know the Nittos will fit, but I am not sure about the 13.50" wide Toyo.

My backspacing is 4.65.

What are your thoughts?

I have the 37" Trail Grappler's and love them. I personally like the 12.50 width, but that is just me. Good luck and post pics when done!

I have 35" Toyo's on the Jeep and 35" Nitto's on the Truck. I like the Nitto's. I will be putting them on the Jeep this summer. I just like the all around ride, on and off road.

I have the Toyos 37 13.5 18 they did great in the snow. Need to play with them on the rocks aired down, but I was happy with them messing around at the ohv with 29 psi in them.

both are good tires, the 13.50s will rub more than the 12.50s on the frame when you turn, they problably both will rub with 4.65 backspacing.

They are both great tires. I have trail grapplers and am very happy with them. You won't notice much difference between the two

Nittos.. Great reviews, top 5 rated all around tire and weigh less than the toyos. and since they're thinner.. slightly better fuel consumption.. not that we're counting at this point.. my 0.02

13.5 you might have to add a washer or two to your steer stop nuts.

Would adjusting the steering stops affect the turning radius?

Yes it will decrease the angle your wheels can turn. This prevents your wheels from rubbing on control arms but also reduces your turning angle, thus radius. But it's not really that much of a difference. It may make you do a multiple point turn, but if you want/ need a fat footprint; that's the trade off.
