Default Custom bike rack ideas...no trailer hitch or spare tire

Any ideas out there of fabricating a bike rack for my JKU 2012. I don't have a trailer hitch and I don't want to carry my spare tire.

I'm not planning on building one from scratch but planning on getting one from REI or bike store and change it to make it work for my JKU

Any help is appreciated

You can buy hardtop racks if you have a hardtop.. Other than that, I've only seen tow, and tire carrier style. Tow hitch is only $90 and stupid simple to install (maybe 20 min) and a lot cheaper than racks

I would love to get a roof rack but my jeep sits really high with a 4" lift and 37" tires. Would love to fabricate an already existing one that I can easily take off. And I won't have my hitch until I get my bumpers

Until you can afford bumpers, I'd honestly just try to find a used tow hitch on here or craigslist. That way you can sell for what u got it for once you purchase aftermarket bumpers

Btw I found for $50 without wiring and $62 with (new) that's stupid cheap

Just had any idea though!! If you are wanting to fab up something and doing it with top off, I'd just strap the bike straight across from one roll bar to the other.

That would be a good idea but with a 3yr old in the back I don't he'll be able to take the wind. I'll think of something and post pics.

Thanks anyways

Here is pic of my rack. I built originally for a single bike on my H3 when I traded in my Cherokee. I was not interested in giving Yakima more money. I just recently added longer 1" nipples so I can carry 2 bikes. Now, the rear tire on the 2nd bike will stick out too much. I need to center it up.
