Default AFE Y-pipe vibration/rattle, need some help.

During my lift I decided to install the AFE Y-pipe as my exhaust had to be removed anyways. During the install I noticed that the pipe on the passenger side ran extremely close to the transfercase mount. Well it appears it actually rests against it now and during accelleration at certain RPM's it vibrates/rattles against the mount and makes an annoying buzzing sound. Anyone else have this problem? Any Ideas how to shft it over away from the mount? I don't think I can adjust the slip connection in the middle as I believe its already spread apart as far as possible with out leaking. Any help is appreciated. I'm going to try and adjust it this weekend when I have some free time.

Wow, i has this problem too. Freaking pissed when I couldn't fix it for the longest time. I used a pry bar and loosened up the center connection and pryed it over. Then tightened her up. Mines pretty close, no rattles tho now. I did it too much before but it leaked, then had to fix it. Just do it when its cold and use ur hand to feel for exhaust air, then u will know if its good enough. Hope that helps.

Thanks. That's what I was going to try. If that didn't work I was going to loosen it on both sides at the cats and use a pry bar off the frame and have someone retorqe them. I have to do the drivers side anyways as I have water dripping from that connection.

I installed exhaust spacers and the system is loaded to the back so the pipe is rubbing on a cross member at the rear. I lloosened the bolt and knocked the stop off the pipe going into the cats but it didn't slide together. I am going to use a hammer and board to hit the cat back to the Y pipe. Hopefully that will unspring the load and git rid of the rattle.

I tried spreading the slip joint in the middle. I moved it maybe a 1/16" and it leaks so I'm going to have put it back gut it looks to be vibrating against not only the transfercase mount but also the transmission too. I'm about to try my luck with the stock one and my aftermarket driveshaft.

I had the same problem. I loosened all the bolts, and used a pry bar to separate it from the contact point, then re-tightened everything. No rattles now for over 2k miles.

That's exactly what I was going to try. Once I get my slip joint back to where it was. Did you loosen the bolt where the collector comes into the main section of single pipe too? That one is a mother to loosen and tighten...haha

So I loosened everything and pried it away from the contact points but no luck, its still resting against the mount. Also I don't think I ever had the slip joint in the middle tight enough as I have returned it to its former location and still have a leak. This thing is pissing me off. I'm gonna contact aFe and see if they have any suggestions. I'm open to any suggestions. May just see if they will take it as a return and refund my money as I'm not really happy with their product.
