If it is just me and/or the wife, then the back seat comes out and we've got plently of room for all our stuff.

If the kids are coming then the Jeep is just for day trips - room behind the seat for icebox, food, etc for the day and small bag with other stuff. With the backseat is in there's not a lot of room.

That's why I liked my YJ, the rear fender wells were squared off and I could stack whatever I needed there, I pretty much just toss crap in and open the tailgate/rear window slowly in case stuff wants to fall out...lol my floorboards are used alot.

In my opinion long trips are only possible without the back seat.
I need the back for the icebox, dogbox, traveling bag and so on.
Don't forget to fix everything with mounting straps.
I will show you some pictures the next day if you want to

Agree...anything and everything that CAN be strapped to your bars will help out tons w/ room.

I just did a 14 hour drive...Flipped my back seat up, packed only what I needed to, had a cooler on the front seat passenger side floor, a backpack on the front with some stuff. I wish I took some pics. I traveled solo, met a friend in NC and went down to SC...It was me and another girl and we had plenty of room and that says alot for 2 girls traveling!

Hitch mount cargo racks really help.
