Default Going doorless soon and need a good mirror kit

This will be the first time I ever go doorless since owning the jeep and my state requires that I have mirrors. I've seen a lot of kits around and want to know which is the best to get. My friend warned me that the passenger side mirror is hard to see after I take the doors off. Are there any mirror kits that eliminate this problem?

I know some places only require one exterior mirror. I have any regardless, but I've heard here in Maryland the law says one rear facing mirror

I'm interested too. I'd like a set that doesn't use the factory door hinges, as I'll often have soft doors on.

In PA, we legally only need the rear view....but that sucks in traffic. You need at least a driver's side mirror. The old CJ replacement mirrors bolt right to the existing windshield bolts. You can leave the bracket there and install one bolt to put them on or take them off. Rugged Ridge has a quick release out now that is the exact same concept. I'm just not a fan of the round mirror on a JK. The square looks better and has a larger viewing area.

I use the old CJ universals because I had them laying around.

Awesome jeep! Thanks for clarifying the mirror laws, but you're right. driving in traffic without the mirros sucks. My friend has a JKU and we went doorless last summer without mirrors. Let's just say our necks were broken when we got home cause we had to keep turning around to check for traffic.

I also agree with the round mirrors on a JK, not my thing either. I was tempted to get Rugged Ridge's set but they seem kinda pricey. Do they move at all while you are driving? Are they shakey, move from wind while driving at high speeds etc etc. I have a motorcycle and my left mirror vibrates like crazy from the motor vibrations to the point where I can't see what's behind me. Just tyring to see if there's anything similar in the JK.

You don't need mirrors .. When the PA statey pulls u over you tell him word for word " I'm lone wolf I drive a Jeep and I don't give a f--k"

Good to go

This mirror doesn't move. You can see just fine at highway speeds, no shaking. They can just be tough to find. They are the old school universal replacements.

It looks like the Lange "Quick II Mirror" is a nice purpose-built solution with a mirror that is big enough to be for more than looks.

With this one, I can see a police officer saying that it needs to be properly fitted to the vehicle. If you argue, he could easily justify citing you for unsafe equipment.

Not being a dick, just letting you know.
