Newb installing aftermarket front bumper.... any advice?
Hey guys I'm replacing my front bumper with a new Body Armor Bumper LINK this weekend with 2 of my buddies. I have never done this before and I am wondering if you guys have any tips for a rookie? Thanks guys!
Are there special tools required to take off the stock bumper? It looks like I'll just need a socket set and a drill to install the aftermarket bumper.
I found that if you screw an actual screw into the plastic clips/retainer screws on the stock bumper it makes it easier to pull them out as you can use the actual screw as something to grab onto. Just a small way into them, enough to make it a solid connection between the screws. Hope this makes sense you can do a search to get pics of what I am talking about.

Installed my Best top stubby and removing the old one was more of a pain than bolting on the new one. But this may depend on what bumper you're installing.....
As said above, drilling out the middle of the pins helps to pop them out.

The stock bumper has plastic screws that hold the "skid" in place. You use a screwdriver to remove the screws but you may come into some, like on mine, that turned but wouldn't back out. For these, I utilized a drill bit opposed to the screwdriver. For my application, I didn't need to reuse them so they were no good to me either way.
