Default Please help!!! 2 dealers, 1 month w/out my Jeep ...still issues.

I recently installed a long control arm kit on my 2010 4dr jk , it now has a 5" lift and a 1" body lift. I drove away from the dealer a week ago and at the first stop light ....upon acceleration i feel a slight thud. now a week later (after wheelin on Sunday) I hear a CLANG OR CLANKING sound. I feel its in the front end and steering related? Any info would greatly be appreciated. If ANYONE KNOWS OF A GOOD PASSIONATE ABOUT JEEPS TECH IN THE MA AREA PLEASE LET ME KNOW.Click image for larger version

Have you considered a draglink flip kit? Not that it will necessarily solve your problem, but your draglink is at a crazy angle. At 5", I would think at minimum u have a dropped Pittman arm and trackbar relocation bracket but I can tell in the pic.

There is a guy I use in Townsend MA. He's awesome and specialized in Jeeps and all the fun stuff that goes along with it. I'ld give his company name here but I don't know if that is against the forum rules. Just do a Google search and he's the only 4x4 place in Townsend that all about Jeeps.

Have you checked your ball joints? Mine are all done. I'll be changing them this coming weekend. They are clunking pretty bad. The OEM ball joints have plastic bushings. Go figure.

Two quick observations. First one of the pictures shows that you have both ends of the steering stabilizers connected to tie rod, is that just how the angle of the picture is? Also, again from the pictures it seems like your drag link and track bar are at different angles, I think they are supposed to be as parallel as possible.

Regarding the clanking, I had a similar issue after I installed my TF adjustable track bar and it turned out to be that the bolt on the axle was a little lose which allowed the axle to move when turning the wheel, causing the noise.

Just curious, did you find the source of the noise?

How long has the lift been on jeep and do u here the noise when turning? Was hearing a cracking sound when I made a turn the other week and it ended up being the heim joint at axle on the trac bar havn no lubrication. Gotta love jig a lu!
