Default shift boot seal after a body lift

Does one need to be concerned with the gap between the bodt and the transmission after a body lift? does one need to be concerned about mud and debris getting in through the shift boot seal?

Thx in advance

Cheers
Mo

I never worried about mine. Had it on for 30,000 miles. I play hard in mud.
