Default Best off road tires

Right now I have mixxis 34 inch tires, ive had them for a good 8 months and the tred is already wearing thin, ive gone off roading once and go mudding when i get the chance. What are the best off road brand tires that dont wear too quick.

This is a tough question because you will find out that many of the responders (myself included) will tell you what they have. It gives "us" a feeling of making the right decision or justification as to why we purchased the tires we did and at the price we did. All that being said, I am a firm believer in the overall performance of all aspects of the tires I bought. People drive their rigs out to the trails on pavement rather than trailer them. Once out on the trails, you want the performance of a strong dependable tire. I went with a 35" toyo M/T myself. They weren't the cheapest, lightest, or most aggressive on the market. I did a little bit of research and found them to be a viable option due to their strength and word of mouth from previous forum members.

Bottom line.... Do your due diligence and make the best decision based on whatever helps you sleep at night. That's what I did and I'm quite happy with my decision with the performance. However... (wait for it)............ I wish I would have went bigger. I'm sure I'm not the first nor the last to say this.

Cheers and happy trails!

Everyone is gonna say what they are running. I say Mud Grapplers. LOVE them. The KM2 is also a great tire! I ran the KM2's before the Mud Grapplers. The Nitto Trail Grappler is also a great tire.

Yes I love these tires, sadly too heavy for my DD.

+1 to the Toyo Open Country MTs. And I'm not even running them myself! (though I have in the past). Best all-around MT I've ever owned.

Before picking the right tire you need to acknowledge what you are going to be using them for and what your expectations are. If you only went off road once in 8 months maybe you are better off looking for a less aggressive tire if you are more concerned with wear quality. Maybe an agressive all terrain tire like the general grabbers as an alternative to a mud or rock tire.

Default Yokohama Geolandar M/T Plus

Anyone have any experience with Yokohama Geolandar M/T Plus? They cost $283 for their 35" and $339 for their 37" which are reasonable to me. They are also one of the lightest 35" at 61 lbs each, their overall diameter is 34.6" and Sect. width is 12.8".

I'm shopping around for tires and will probably buy them in the summer, just curious because I haven't seen anyone run these.

Think you mean the weight ratings.

The Yoko's sound like Load Range C while the Toyo's might be E. Know for sure?

Either way both are still plenty of weight and Load Range for a JK.

Again, you're comparing a Load Range C tire to a Load Range E tire.
