Default Why the **** is my front end wobbly???

Ok, this all started after smashing my right wheel against a small rock causing a decent size dent in the wheel which caused me to replace it...Since then, my front end has been wobbly once I hit about 45mph on up.
First thing I did was tighten down all the jam nuts on my adjustable arms, tie rod, etc. this cut the wobbling in half...then I put the new wheel on and had both left and right front wheel/tires balanced...this cut down a little bit more of the wobbling...but its still wobbly enough to drive me nuts on the freeway or when even just going down the street at 45-50mph.

Also, before hitting the rock, my steering wheel was uncentered slightly to the right, after hitting the rock it was cocked to the left!! It also pulled to the right before but now pulls to the right significantly more than it did before.

I asked the fleet mechanic at work and he said its probably an unbalanced tire, which was what I was already thinking from reading about such issues on the forum....but I just had them balanced...

Next step will be an alignment job in a few days but I don't want to pay for an alignment job and still not have it fix the wobbling which is the big issue.

What the hell did I do to my front end???
Someone must have experience or knowledge about this??

Know yours is speed sensitive. That's often a wheel vibe like your mechanic says. Did you damage the tire?

Other than that, check Planman's death wobble thread and check your ball joints. If it was a hard enough hit to bend the wheel, you may have damaged something else.

Tire is tip top, even switched tires/wheels to test it out...
This is driving me nuts...I'm supposed to be saving up to blow cash on EVO Sliders, not pay to figure this out!?!?

Supposed to go wheeling tomorrow, thinking about going to a different tire shop and have them re-balance to see if that makes a difference...

This has been driving me nuts!

Jack the front end up like under the frame so the front end hangs. Loosen all bolts then re torque to factory

Jack the side that hit the rock and check the wheel bearing and ball joints . Is there any excessive play in your steering wheel? Check for steering stabilizer for a leak or any damage

Went to a different shop for balancing (Americas Tire Co.) and they said one tore was 10 ounces off...drives just about perfect now, still a slight vibration between 35-40mph? But otherwise just fine! Think I will be getting an alignment job soon either way and still want to take it in to Off Road Evolution for a check-up!

This similar issue happened to me and it was because a balancing weight was damaged while wheeling. The steering wobble/shake was fixed after the tires were rebalanced. Good to hear you got it fixed.
