Default Daystar Hood Wranglers

I did a search and most of what I found was from 2008. Seems there was some concern about prolonged usage and damage to the hood latches themselves. Has anyone experienced any damage from prolonged usage of these? I have a set waiting to be installed but am unsure now. Thanks in advance.

Sorry I don't know about prolonged use but they do stop the hood flutter. My 11' R. Unl. had hood flutter like crazy; I swear the hood was bouncing up and down a half inch on the highway, especially in a headwind; the daystar latches cured that; it sits tight now. Btw you don't have to unbolt the lower half from the front fenders; those bolts are possible to get to w/ a rachet and the correct size socket but it's difficult, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get that nut back on, so I removed the bottom factory part w/o unbolting; it is possible, just be careful not to scratch your Jeep.

No damage to the latches on mine. They were installed in 2009.

When I had first installed them they were definitely tight and had me concerned. I've had them on mine for about three years now. No issues at all. In fact, after a few months they seemed to have stretched to a very reasonable size or tension and have stayed there. I'm perfectly happy with them.

I haven't had any trouble in the 2+ years I've had them on.

No damage and I've had them for 2+ years. They loosened up after the first month or so in the sun, but still stop the hood flutter

Maybe I'm the odd one out, but I had mine on for less than a month before they had both cracked at the bottom of each latch...
