Default 35" duratrac on stock carrier.

I just tried to mount this up and I know it is bad to do but it is temporary.
I have heard people say their 35s rests on the bumper ? I tried this but couldn't get the gate closed without lifting the tire? I have the daystar bump stops ordered but I dont see how this will help. I have a set of 1.5 wheel spacers, should I use one and not worry about it setting on the bumper?

I tried the same thing a couple months ago. Same tire with ATX wheels with 4.5 backspace. I used extenders which also raise the wheel, but i did not like the fit. To me it seemed like a bad fix even though temporary.

My solution was to leave the stock Rubi wheel until I installed the AEV tire carrier on the stock bumper. Love the carrier and couldn't be happier.

yeah your SOL with trying to mount 35's with the factory bumper/tire carrier combo. I have a teraflex relocation mount and it has tons of movement and I don't like it and I'm saving for the AEV tire carrier and going to run with it mounted through the stock bumper until I can get the AEV rear bumper.

I have the exact same tire mounted on Black Rhino keyhole wheels. The tire just touches the bumper (rests on top) and feels really solid. I even left it on while in Moab for EJS. Rear bumper shipping next week, so I will not have to worry about it anymore.

I do not have to lift the gate at all to close it. The daystars will not help you clear the bumper, but they should help if you decide to use the spacer.

I ran mine like that for 18 months before finally developing a small stress crease in the upper right corner. I had Daystar bumpstops and the tire rested pretty solidly on the bumper.
