Default EVO drag link flip conflict - need opinions

Hey guys,

I'm installing the EVO drag link flip kit on my JK. So far so good, but I can see I'll have a problem with adding the driver's side sway bar link bracket as seen in this picture (it butts up against my EVO gussets):

Since I already have extended sway bar links, I was thinking of not using the new sway bar locations. That would require cutting the new track bar bracket as seen below:

I'd like your opinions on two things:

1. Will it be detrimental not to use the raised sway bar location?
2. Do you think the track bar bracket will be strong enough without the extra tie in at the stock sway bar pin location?

Thanks for your help!

Micah

Anybody? It seems this would be an issue with anyone running the evo gussets and drag link flip kit had run into.

From my pics you can see what I did.

My conflict was I ordered swaybar links that were to long. So I improvised a little. I wouldn't recommend cutting as you suggest.

Have both. No conflict. That bracket goes on the inside (towards the middle of the jk). With the middle hole being the hole you drill though into the spring perch. Does that make sense? If not I can snap a pic.

hey guys, thanks for the responses. After reviewing what MTG said, I took another look at the bracket. If the bracket can be installed at a slight angle, I think it will work. Otherwise I'll need to take a small notch out of the gusset. Is yours installed vertically or at a slight angle? Either way, I'm thinking I'll sell my longer JKS discos and get some stock length ones for the new brackets in order to keep the brackets whole as recommended.

Thanks!

I'm sure it is as close to vertical as possible. I can check for you and get a picture tomorrow if needed. But I had my gussets welded after I did the lift/draglink. The guy I had weld them did notch one of the gussets but I can't remember if it was at this corner or not. I have no idea how much of an angle you could do without problems. Sorry.

one other question: should the pitman arm be pointing straight ahead when the steering wheel is centered?

Hey MTG, don't worry about the picture. You've been extremely helpful. I'm going to notch the gusset and install it vertically.

I snapped these with my phone but I'm not sure if they show you much.

Haha. No worries. Figured I could walk the 10 feet to my garage and snap a pic.
