Default Duratracs not being made again until 2013

I was at my local Goodyear today and the Duratracs are not going to be made again until 2013. I was able to locate 5 but they were all over the country.

I have those tires and are very happy with them, road noise is not bad and they grip like crazy off road!

The manager of the service center i was at said that this happens a lot for other tires they make. They have limited runs for all but their biggest sellers. Apparently they make them in lots and when the lot runs out it takes a lot to make them again. They need to recreate the operations.

This seems like it would be a risk to their customers to run completely out of a tire they didn't intend to discontinue. What it you damage a tire beyond repair and can't get a matching replacement? Seems like a poor practice.

I completely agree. As much as this is the best tire out there for what its does, I guess there are not enough of us out there creating the demand necessary to keep these tires in production.

Quite true. They appear quite popular here on the forum, but maybe they aren't selling well overall.
