I read that a few times and honestly, I have no idea what you're asking. Perhaps if you could clarify the question, we could provide input.

He's asking what is essential to completing the Rubicon trail, and how much gas is typically required (Or how much he should carry in addition to a full tank, if any)

Good question. I'm doing it this summer and didn't think gas would be a problem but would like to see what others say.

Ah, well that makes some sense. With so many vehicles called "Rubicon", we've confused the conversation about the word!

To be clear I am in the process of starting my build sheet. Im getting everything from bumpers to lift and tires etc..Some rear tire carriers that I want only have can only carry one gas can is that enough for most trails? Also trying to decide if 37s are worth all the extra money for one extra inch of clearance. I think the rubicon trail will be one of the harder trails I will take on.

I have only run the Rubicon once, so I don't know if I am really qualified to respond. Anyway, I left Georgetown with a full tank and had a 1/4 left at the end. (2 door JK) I felt that my 35" tires and 2.5" lift was sufficient for the trail. However, I am sure that anyone will tell you, the bigger the lift and tires, the easier any trail will be. My 2 cents. Hope it helps. Have fun on the Rubicon!!

It was my understanding that the Jeep "Rubicon" model was named after the trail because it was able to run the trail as-is from the dealership... Can someone verify?
