Default Cracked front rubicon dana 44 that has been sleeved and gusseted

My axle houseing has about a 2 1/2 in. Crack where the plug welds were from the axle sleeves. Can this be welded back up? What are my options, thanks

I don't know how to fix it, just curious if you know how you cracked it?

First, sorry that happened! Second, is the housing cracked or is the tube cracked? A tube can be replaced but if the housing is cracked, you should scrap it and start fresh. If you weld a cracked housing, it may prevent a leak for a while, but eventually the stress on the area will cause catastrophic damage. With the replacement options available from Dynatrac and Teraflex, it's probably cheaper to buy a new axle.

Could you please post a pic of the damage and your axle setup? I ask because my current plan is to have my Rubi's front 44 sleeved and gusseted at the C's, but your event coupled with other incidents I read about on the Forum have me reconsidering. I may just do gears now and save up for a proper axle from Dynatrac or Teraflex.

Did you do the weld yourself? Someone may have welded too fast, too much heat maybe...

All I can say is if it's just a crack coming from the weld drill a hole at the end of the crack to stop it from going more then just weld it.
