Default OK what do Ya'll think

I went to a local 4 wheel drive shop and inquired about a lift, wheels and tire package. I was positive about the 18x9 Moto Metal 961and 35x12.5 Trail Grapplers. As far as the lift I was looking at the Tera flex 2.5. but was open to suggestions. First he tells me the Tera flex is a good lift BUT what they don't tell you is you also need the ADJ. Track bar, and something else that I can't remeber what it was and that they have the TF 3" on the shop JKU and the springs are very. very soft. He said by the time you buy everything else you might as well buy the Rock Krawler 3.5 Factor kit. It comes with everything I'll need and it has the progressive coils. I asked him about the front drive shaft with the 3.5 lift. He says we put on the Y-pipe and he also recomends the front bump steer kit. I also wanted the wide stance look so he talked me into 18x10's instead because of more -offset. So I'm thinking ok this will be a million dollars when its all over. Well for this kit plus Y-pipe, bump steer kit, 5 wheels and tires, an alignment installed out the door $4700 big ones. So I'll ask ya'll is this a good deal and the right set up. Note I'm in Texas prices vary state to state.

That's almost the exact setup I went with...Honestly, I think that is a decent deal.

After wheels, tires, all lift components with high steer kit, and the Y-Pipe...Basically everything in my signature below + 1k for labor...I paid 6k.

Sounds like the classic up-sale. From everything i have read, plenty of people run the TF2.5 kit with no real problems. Sure adjustable track bar and lower control arms are nice, but not immediately necessary. I may be wrong though. I am ordering the 2.5 kit tomorrow.

Teraflex springs are not soft by any means. They handle weight on a rig better than most springs out there with very little sag. Shops will upsell you on kits that they can make more money on and veer you in that direction contrary to what kit you want.

Skip the y pipe and drop the extra $200 for the j.e. reel 1310 front drive shaft. WOL has a write up on it.

OK since the kit he is trying to talk you into is basically the kit I want... and your in Texas like I am I have to ask... what shop? I've been looking for a shop that does RK instead of teraflex... seems all the local shops I've looked at are teraflex shops. Nothing against teraflex... just not the one I want.

That price is a good one IMO if it includes everything you say it does... can you please post the shops name & location? Or PM it to me?

Oh btw look into discount tire direct for your rims and tires. They saved me almost $1,000 on my rig! I had originally priced mg rims and tires through 4wp.
