Default Brake pads need to be replaced....

Well, I got about 35k on my jeep and the brake pads are starting to squeak ever so slightly. About 2 months ago, I also put on heavy 37's as well. That being said, I'm sure it helped in wearing down the brake pads.

Now, I know I can get better rotors along with brake pads to improve my braking, but a new brake system is a lot more $$$ than some replacement brake pads.

So, I am just looking to replace the brake pads themselves. Who can recommend some quality brake pads other than the factory MOPAR ones? I'm obviously looking for a strong compound, I believe ceramic is the best? Could be wrong, I'm not too savy on brakes so-to-say.

Quadratec offers Hawk Performace brake pads (hope I can mention the name, if not - my apologies). After reading some reviews on them as well, they seem to fair well. Thoughts?

Again, let me know what you guys think or suggest/recommend.

Just replaced my rear rotors and pads with ACDelco Pro Rotors Amazon.com: ACDelco 18A2465 Professional Durastop Rear Brake Rotor: Automotive and Hawk HPS pads Amazon.com: Hawk Performance HB608F.630 Performance Ceramic Brake Pad: Automotive

With 37's you probably want the LTS over the HPS though: http://www.amazon.com/Hawk-Performan.../dp/B002MBF9G0

About $130 for the whole rear end. Swapped them out in about an hour and a half (had to run to dealership for new brake pad clips)

They are so much better than the stock ones, well that and mine had 50k miles on them

Whats the difference in rotors compared to stock? If im gonna replace the rotor, I'd like to replace it with something far superior to the factory rotor and not something that's just slighty better...

Appreciate the feedback though along with the links.

my personal opinion (im no pro by any means) is that the factory rotors are fine for daily use and even offroading unless they are damaged.

after i changed out just the pads i was surprised how much more braking performance i had.

Well, that's what I was kinda hinting about.... getting better brake pads along with keeping the factory rotors(since there is no damage to them) and getting some better braking from the "highter quality" brake pads. I know I can go with a whole new rotor and/or brake system, but if I can replace my brake pads which need to be replaced regardless, and get some additional braking capabilities, then I'll be happy...

I like to shop at RockAuto for my parts. Just spent $360 for 4 new brake pads, 4 shocks and 4 coils for my mothers Jeep Grand Cherokee. They do a good job of categorizing parts from daily driving to performance.

Wagner Thermoquiet has always been my top pick for any vehicle I changed brakes on. They never make a noise and create little to no brake dust.

Got my rears replaced at the dealer last week. Kinda pricey, $290 for pads and cutting the rotors but they gave me a life time pad replacement
