Which Hi Lift jack would be better suited for general, just in case,

I'd go even taller and get the 48", at minimum. But, if you have to choose between those two heights definitly get the 42".

Thanks for the replies.
Currently, the Sahara is running stock but Im thinking about
getting a small lift for it.
Probably going to go with either a TeraFlex Budget Boost
or 2 1/2 lift kit.

Hi-Lift's are made in 48" and 60" sizes.

The 48" is much easier to secure on the JK, whether it be on the hood, between the rear rollbars, under rear seats, or mounted on the rear bumper either horizontal or vertical.

I bought the 60" and while it obviously provides an extra foot of extension, I've cut it down to 53" to get it to fit comfortably.

The reason I mentioned a 36" is I saw one on 4 wheel parts site.
But the 48" makes more sense.
Thanks for the replies.
Im going shopping.
