Tell Me About This Gas Can
Hey,
I just picked up this gas can in an Army surplus store here in Ca. I took a chance on it, as it was only $30.
First of all, is it an actual gas can, or is it for water? It stores 10l. The guy in the store told me that it's a European can. It has clearly been resprayed recently, and what's interesting is the color is almost a spot-on match for Jeep Green, just without the metallic.
I suspect that the can is technically illegal to use here, right?
If anyone has any information on it, feel free to comment.
Can I buy a holder for this do you think?

Pretty sure it's for gas. I found this and it's almost an exact match http://www.armynnavy.com/catalog/cat...oducts_id/2108

I had one of these on my TJ. Any Jerry Can holder works. I will never use the metal ones like this ever again. The fuel heats up in the sun and the container pressurizes. Making it very difficult to open. When it does open it explodes (not fire) out under pressure. I got fuel all over me. The newer plastic ones are threaded and release pressure slowly as you open.
Just my opinion.

Okay, good to know.
I have an old WWII German NATO can for my jeep. Its got 2 handles as opposed to 1, and the seam down the middle of the can isnt that prominent. I like them because its got a latch spout. Mine is a faded army green and I drove all over CA and was not given any trouble for the color, so I wouldnt worry too much.
