Installed my Teraflex leveling kit this morning. We had zero problems. I was nervous that there might be bowing in the springs like others have had but my springs are straight. We thought that we would require spring compressor but it got in the way more than it did any good.

The trick to this install is a good 3 tonne jack and stands, for the front, lift and support the jeep on jack stands. Make sure to go high enough so when you lower the axle there is enough space to re-install the springs once you insert the spacers. Undo the brake line bracket, sway bar links, and lower shock bolts while supporting the axle with the jack from the banjo housing. Doing all this you should have zero problems.

The rear went pretty much the same. We jacked up the back supporting it on the stands at the frame. We supported the axle again at the banjo housing. We then undid the lower shock bolts, lower sway bar link bolts, brake line bracket on the frame, and undid the ABS wire from where they were attached to the frame. We Also disconnected the park brake cables from the hanger attached to the tub. This all allowed full range to get the springs in and out.

Took us all of 1.5 hrs from start to finish and with a coffee break somewhere in there!!!!

Looks great! I am looking to do this soon on my '08 unlimited. Did you have to get a front end alignment or was everything ok afterwards?

 

I had to adjust the drag link to straighten my steering wheel. Took all of 10 minutes.

I was told by a shop I would need an alignment, then a friend of mine told me that the way these jeeps are designed the only adjustment if required would be the steering wheel adjustment. So don't have anyone tell you it is required.

This really was a simple install. Just take your time and all will be good.

Thanks!!! Yes the stance is definitely better!!! I did not want to drastically change the handling characteristics from OEM so this is perfect!

My next step is 1.5" spydertrax spacers to widen the stance. Then when the tires wear out I will put 33" BF Goodridge KO's.

I may change the wheels at that time to 17" classic II's

Yep 1.5 hrs...For someone who has never done it before, maybe 2 to 2.5 hrs!

I have to admit I already had an idea on how to do the front.

I tried to do it previously in my garage with a 2 tonne jack and stands. I had everything up front apart then realized I did not have the hight to lower the axle so I had to stop and do everything back up until my buddy was available to help me out. That's why I stated a 3 tonne jack and stands are required to jack the vehicle up higher

I would recommend 2 people tackle this. It can be done by one person but two pairs of hands are better.
