Question Gobi Stealth Rack + Aftermarket Bumper?

For those of you using a Gobi rack (or know a lot about them), how does it mount to the back bumper? Is it possible to set this up on an aftermarket bumper? I can't tell from the pictures if it is resting on the bumper or if that is actually where it is mounted. I love the rack but I want a different bumper/carrier too. I appreciate the help

The pivot posts at the rear are not resting on the bumper at all, they mount to the frame. I'll snap a pic when I leave work.

Ah, okay. That makes more sense. Thanks and I greatly appreciate it.

That being said, I do not believe it is compatible with all bumpers. For instance, I believe there is interference with the AEV rear bumper. You might want to check around for particular configurations. I'm hoping to pull the trigger on one someday, those are the best looking roof racks around imo.

I agree. There are a few bumpers I like so hopefully one will be compatible.

There's a pick on here with the Gobi and AEV back bumper mounted at same time. He modified it and the rack is now adhered to rear quarter panel. Or a least that's what it looks like. I think it's in show and tell section

Gobi now sells special mounts for going around AEV rear bumpers. The rack is compatible with almost any bumper. Call Gobi, they will advise you.

It's going to depend on how the aftermarket bumper curves around the rear corners. A lot of them don't, such as stubby & mid-width bumpers, which should be ok for the GOBI rack I imagine.
I suggest calling or emailing a GOBI rep first with a short list of which bumpers you'd like to mount to check fitment compatibility.
I'm still running my stock bumper.

Gobi has a list of bumpers on their website. Aev isn't on there but I'm pretty sure their bracket works with it now...
