Default 2012 lifted jk, how did you solve ds clearance

Hello, I'm looking to lift my 12 jkur and want to know what people did to get the proper clearance for the drive shaft. Their are several options out there with exhaust relocation and new ds. Post what you did and how much it cost. Thanks

I bought the AFE Y-Pipe but, hindsight being 20/20, I should have just spent $200.00 bucks more, and bought a smaller diameter 1310 DS.

Just buy the DS, solves multiple problems instantly.

The best solution is a front aftermarket 1310 drive shaft for about $450.

I started with teraflex spacers which did what they were meant to but weren't compatible with my EVO skids. So long story short Coast 1310 front shaft and never look back!

A: On a 2012-Up, you will want to install a new front drive shaft regardless if you have an automatic or manual transmission. Assuming you install new, longer shocks with your lift, the extra droop you will see at a flex will cause the slip shaft boot on the drive shaft to tear. However, that is just one problem you will encounter. Even if you install exhaust spacers or relocate the cross over, the CV boot at the output shaft will be sitting at a significant state of pinch and this will cause it to fail prematurely.
With a 2" lift or lower you could probably get by with just exhaust spacers or an aftermarket Y pipe or maybe not even need one...But with 2.5" (some 2.5" lifts actually net 3" then what's advertised) or more an aftermarket driveshaft will address both the clearance issue and be able to operate at more extreme angles than a stock DS could w/out failing.

TF exhaust spacers. Only $45. If I go with a larger lift down road I'll need new DS regardless. At that point Ive only lost $45 but for now everything works great.
