is it normal to have this kind of symptom with bigger tires?
i just had a lift, d/s and 35" duratrac put on my jeep. the jeep itself doesn't feel any different than before except that around 30-40 mph, the cabin noise gets little louder(more bass to the noise) and goes away. I took the jeep back to the mechanic that installed the lift and he thinks it's the tires that's causing the issue. When he initially installed the lift with my old 32" tires, he told me that it didn't have that noise that I mentioned. So, I know bigger tires create more noise but is it normal to have louder noise at certain speed? The jeep itself drives fine, straight, and it has no wobble or anything like that. At first, I thought it was either drive shaft or balancing issue but the mechanic told me that if it was the d/s or balancing issue, it would have very obvious wobble feeling and very constant.

my first thought to this problem would be road/tire noise due to larger lugs. generally happens when you put mud-terrain type tires or a tire with a larger void between the lugs on your rig and if you have been running all-terrain or street tires from the factory it would not be noisy.
i'm hoping that it's the bigger tire thing. Even though Duratrac is a A/T, it's tread is pretty aggressive looking... i don't really mind the noise but in the same time, I don't want anything breaking because it was not correct.
I've had tires make more noise at certain speeds. Goodyear MT/R with Kevlar tires make more resonance sound at 35 to 40 mph, then quiet down at highway speeds. Never owned a set of Duratracs, so can't comment on them.
I would think a vibration would be felt, as well as heard.

My Duratracs were quieter when new than the stock BFG KM's. With close to 35K miles, they hum a lot more now, but it only gets louder with speed. You don't have any vibrations or shimmies at the same speed? Just more noise?
