Default Rough Country 3.5" lift questions

Here is the kit I'm considering the Rough Country 3.5" lift. I have some questions as far as the install. I don't have a pitman arm puller, which I'm sure I can rent from an auto parts store or something. I live in southern Indiana about 2.5 hours away from my brother where id be doing the install. Is there a specific way to adjust the track bars or is that done with an alignment? Also would i be fine highway driving it home w/out an alignment? I will be installing 35x12.5x17" wheels and 35 nit to trail grapplers at the same time.
Thanks,
Mike

I have this lift installed and it's been great! It was recommended that I go with an adjustable track bar with the kit which I did. Makes the install MUCH easier as you will keep the stock pitman arm and track bar bracket for the front. The adjustable track bar will accomplish the same thing as the drop pitman arm and bracket would do with the stock track bar. Once you have the adjustable track bar you are are able to fully adjust and align your steering on your own. You can recenter your axles and recenter your steering wheel in less than 30 min anywhere you go.

A trac bar keeps the axle centered under frame it really isn't much of a steering component more suspension item but still very important the pitman arm connects to drag link and if me I would do a drag link flip kit and stay away from longer pitman arm they cause more stress on steering gear box and get adjustable trac bar

Well the kit comes with the dropped pitman arm. Just so I understand, you are suggesting I look at getting the kit w/out that pitman arm and get a drag kit? To tell you the truth, I've never heard of one of those. It seems like a nice kit for the $$. Also if you have new track bars there is no need for the dropped pitman arm?

I just installed this a couple of weekends ago. I love it so far. I just disregarded the drop pitman arm and ordered a draglink flip from *******. Also got the RC geometry correction brackets. Jeep drives better than stock.

Wow that's some great info thanks. I just see it as kind of a waste of money not to use it. Would it hurt to add it? I guess it's the newbie in me not hearing about a drag link flip, or geometry correction brackets. I'll have to do some more research to build my kit.

How much do you tighten the track bars? Or a better question do you judge it by how far off the axle is off center?

There's a great guide on project-jk that shows you how to do your own alignments on your JK. It's really easy to do.

I looked on the Rough Country website and can not find a drag link flip, or the relocation brackets? Are these items necessary? I would like to include them it sucks I can't buy them all in one place.
Thanks for the alignment thread. Love this site!

Got everything except draglink from RC. You have to look under JK accessories to find LCA relocation brackets. Just google jk draglink flip to find the draglink. Quite a few companies offer it.
