Looking to upgrade tires in the future but want to go wider. Looking at toyo oc m/t 38x14.50x17. I know my stock moab's are not wide enough. The 12.50s are pushing it. So what would be the proper size rim for that. I was thinking 8.5 back spacing. IS that to small or is 9 better

 

Are you talking backspacing or rim width?

 

17x9 would be bettet

 

9" width, 3.5-4.0 Max backspacing. Any more backspacing will have tire in frame and control arms when u turn.
