Programmer suggestions
Wasn't going to worry with a programmer, but after being told my odometer readings would be off without corrections to my computer, I guess I will now be biting the bullet! My gas mileage has been around 11mpg. This hopefully can't be true!
Just wondering what everyone else is running.
Leaning towards Superchips I guess.
Was getting anywhere from 16.5 to 17 mpg. Now it's been around 11 or 12 mpg after my lift and tires!

If all you want to do is change your tire size and ensure sped etc. is correct then the AEV is probably the cheapest if purchasing brand new. I run a super chips mainly because I got it on craigslist for $50 and it works perfectly.
My review of the super chips is pretty straight forward. It works great to reprogram tire size. The programing options for gas mileage and rock crawling all work, although I doubt if they make any significant mileage difference to actually make the off the shelf sticker price worthwhile. As far as how it affects driving, this could be the "Placebo Affect" (Meaning I want to believe it drives differently so I think it does) but it DOES seem to make a difference in the driving of the jeep. Acceleration and shift seem smoother and slightly more sporty. I doubt that it makes any actual HP difference, however adjusting shift points slightly, and shift "Firmness" can make a difference I suppose. At least that's what i'm going to choose to believe!
I would look on Craigslist and Fleabay and see if you can pick up a programmer cheap. Just be careful with super chips if you buy it used. If the vehicle it last programmed is not returned to stock programming with that super chips, then you end up having to pay Superchips $100 to reset the programmer.

I know everyone is all about superchips, but I went with the diablosport predator tuner and it is worth the extra coin. You can do ANYTHING you want but be careful bc most of the advanced changes need a dyno. If you want the basics, go with the Procal. If you want to do more, superchips and if you want to do anything, go with the diablosport. The decision for me was that it was needed for my current mods and to give me a HP boost. I decided on the diablosport for the future of my rig.
Im running a Superchips Vivid and am very happy with it. Not only does it increase the performance and fuel economy, but allows you to monitor everything going on and choose from many different custom guages
