Default 2.5" BB - The death wobble has come...

A few facts first before the help me questions. I'm running a stock unlimited Unlimited X JK. I just had a shop install my Teraflex BB and all was fine for the first week. Today I bought the jeep into the dealship for the 15K checkup and they rotated and balanced tires. Driving around on errands I was on the highway and at high speed 55+ I hit a transition from one pavement to another (not done very well and more of a bump or speed bump) and I got the AKA DEATH WOBBLE.

Now I have not jumped under the jeep until the morning but I'm really not sure where to begin here. I'm going to probablly spend the whole day checking every possible torque on all bolts after I go get a torque wrench.

Here is what I'm thinking first and foremost and I need help to see if I'm missing anything.

1) Check the front toruque of all bolts

2) have backup person turn wheel and look for any loose parts AKA track bar and if there is any stress cracks in the stock front traction bar

3) go get the front wheels balanced again at dealship if possible (they only do stuff by appointment.

Now the questions:

1) I'm assuming the dealship balanced the tires correctly. In looking at the rims they all have very little weight on them. Is it possible the dealership did not do it right? I've scrolled through many posts so far and it seems t always point at getting re-balanced first.

2) Can someone post what a relocation bracket looks like on the jeep? I heard of one for the rear for the sway bar but I have yet to see a picture so I'm only imagining what this looks like and is doing. I'm a visual person more than able to understand via verbal discriptions.

3) Any other thoughts on this as this is my Daily driving vehicle and I'm not sure if I should be driving as this scared the piss outta me at 55+ MPH. 65 to be exact.

Well I have camera in hand to do a writeup. I want to check if the vehicle is out of center after I first validate the shop tightened all the bolts to spec. on here. I have both the TF writeup and the one from here. Something is quirky as I've seen way to many of these 2.5" lifts with death wobble now. I see at least 1 or 2 posting a week about the topic. If we can figure out the cause then maybe we can isolate a solution. WOL didn't ge this issue so maybe it has to do with a series of jeep from a production run. Who knows as I have yet to see an actual answer just 2 items we can add to resolve. I listed the first 2 and will list what are logical modifications to do.

1) Front adjustable track bar

2) Stearing Stabilzer but this is diong nothing but hiding the issue no one can identify. Maybe the stock units are faulty and a small lift exposes it?

Default sorry to hear

sorry to hear this happening... i installed mine myself with no torque wrench over a month ago... have been wheeling, stuck, and down washboard roads all with no problem..
however i do randomly get underneath and tighten every bolt again as recommended in the kit. i did have the upper sway bar disconnect bolt come loose up front and was making a clanking noise but not an issue took two minutes to tighten... good luck with it.
hopefully it's something simple... not alot is affected by such a small lift so it shouldn't be to bad...

heres a thought... did a weight come off ur wheel? (lol reread your post and see u thought of that)

Yeah I let go of the gas then quickly accelarated and nothing changed the wobble it just kept going. I tried like heck to keep control as I let the EEP slow down naturally. I hit a second little bump and it went away. overall 5-7 seconds elapsed time. My biggest concern is what is causing it. I see Grant 211 also just got one.

I'm also doing some side research as the two upgrades that I know I got was the larger 17" Sahara rims and the tow package. In the tow package does jeep already increase the height with tougher springs? I ask because the garage could not beleive it was this high.

Ive never experienced it in the JK yet, but Ive had it in my cherokees. It was always either a loose or bad trackbar. Ive also had it from a badly bent rim, but that was no where near as bad as when the trackbar caused it. The main reason it happen so much in my cherokees was because I wasnt as careful with checkin stuff after wheelin, or even just following up after installs. Now Im a little OCD about it. I check all the bolts at each oil change and after wheelin. And if I dont have time to check all the bolt right after wheelin, I at least check the track bars. I hope you figure it out!

Edit. And I experienced it with both my cherokees, one was lifted and the other was a stock suspension.
