Default Baja Designs 8" SolTek HID with Mopar Windshield Mount Brackets

Has anybody mounted a set of Baja Designs 8" SolTek HID lights using the Mopar windshield mount brackets? How about a set of Hella 4000 Compact HID lights with the same brackets? Did you have to make any modifications to the lights or brackets to get the back of the lights to clear the windshield. Until I get an aftermarket bumper or learn to weld, my only mounting options for auxiliary lighting are the A pillars.

Thanks,
Glen

I don't have the lights you are talking about, but I do have Pro Comp 130's (8") on my windshield brackets. As soon as I figure out a better spot to put them, they're being moved. The size of light makes for a nasty blind spot on the drivers side (can't see anything while making a corner).

Personally, I'd either go with the Pro Comp light bar or even just drill some holes in the stock bumper and mount them. I know I have seen both of these on the forum. In the Write-Ups section, I think it is called "my $40 off road lights" and the guy just mounted them directly to the bumper. hat would be my best suggestion because if you buy anthing to mount them for the present and them move them in the future, it would be a waste of money.

Dan,

I called Baja. They told me the depth from the center of the mounting stud to the furthest back part of light was 2.82 inches. Of course because of the angles involved, I don't think this number alone is of much use.

I think you're right. If they had a dimensioned drawing available, cutting a template would be easy.

Dan,

You give the SolTek lights a try yet?

I have (4) Soltek's on my front MORE bumper and I have (2) more Soltek's being added back to my windshield a-pillar and all are the 100w Fuego's 4" lights. These lights are AWESOME!!! Call Baja Designs and speak with Diego and he can hook you up. My windsheild brackets are the KC version, but I will say this; The KC versions place the light too close to the windesheild and required me to drill a new hole farther out of the bracket to get the clearance that I needed. But once I did this they did clear fine. If I were to buy light brackets again I would buy the Rugged Ridge versions. I don't have pics right now of the windsheild lights but here is the front bumper.

Your ride looks AWESOME BEN!! I have heard great things about those fuegos from everyone who uses them. I would love to have a set of Baja Designs lights on my ride. My Warns on my windshield work well though.

I've got a set of the Fuego driving lights that I'm going to attach to an olympic mount on the front bumper. I've ordered Mopar windshield brackets and two Fuego spot lights.

Has anyone compared the driving beam to the spot beam on these? Just curious. I'm hoping it will be a sweet setup and give me excellent light coverage both close in and far out.

Btw, the red trim rings are very cool.

Yes, the trim rings come in; Black, Red and Blue. And as far as the "spots" go, they would be good for very far away or fast driving. I think that the Driving or the Wide Driving would be the best setup for general offroading.
