Default Snorkel questions?

I am new to the wrangler world so 'm still learning. Does anyone know if they make a snorkel kit for the 2012 Sport unlimited. Also is it true that a snorkel will hurt engine performance instead of helping it?

I am also waiting on the snorkel's to be available. Now I'm being told that the AEV should be by end of summer and the ARB by the end of year. Welcome to the forum.

I have the AEV snorkle on my 2011. I didn't notice any performance issues. With over 20k miles since the install, I'm convinced it improved my mileage. I average 17.2 mpg (6 speed) with equal highway and back road driving. I highly recommend turning the intake backwards in the winter time though.

Is turning the intake backwards just for ice and snow? Here in Texas it hardly ever snows.
