Question Lift, tires, flat fenders, and more. Decisions, decisions.

I have a stock '10 2-door Mountain that I'd like to start modifying. I've never hit any trails to-date, but wouldn't be opposed to some mild off-roading (nothing too crazy).

The Jeep has 25,000 miles on it, and the stock "32's" are wearing pretty well. The only thing is...I don't know how crazy I want to go with building the Jeep. Since the Mountain is a Sport, I don't have the heavier axles/diffs which limits me. It's also an automatic with 3.73 gears, again limiting me.

Tires aren't an option right now, I've been thinking of going with a 2 to 2.5" lift; that way it won't look tooooo terribly disproportionate w/the rubi tires, but should still allow me to go up to 35s in the future if I'm correct. I'd prefer to keep the stock gunmetal painted wheels as well, so I'd need spacers I assume due to the stock backspacing.

Help me pick a good combo for a budget (lift, flat fenders maybe?). Since the JK is my daily driver, I don't want it ridiculously big and lumbering, but I also couldn't stop staring at a JKU with 4.5" lift and 37s...WOW!

I've looked through all of the threads on here and, frankly, just about everything I've seen looks great! I want the Jeep to look bigger than the average stock Sport / Rubicon, but I don't want it to look like a roller skate with small tires and a gigantic lift. I also don't want to lift it only to have to redo everything and lift it again should I want more; I want something that's versatile but not extreme.

Thank you in advance!

Also another option that will save you money is trimming your fenders.

4 doors on 37s look AMAZING to me. I personally think that the 2 dr looks better on 35s and that's the road I'm planning to take in the future.

A lot of people seem happy with 2 to 2.5" lifts...the problem is I still don't know what to choose as far as brand, features, etc. Still learning, reading, and confusing myself further.

Flat fenders + 2.5" lift + stock Rubicon tires would show too much gap, wouldn't it? I'd prefer not to trim my stock fenders should I ever decide to return it to original.

Now I don't know if the leveling kit plus flat fenders would be the best route for me, or a full-fledged 2.5" lift.

EDIT: I do want it to sit up a bit higher than other JKs out there...but what about spacers/pucks (Budget Boost) plus flat fenders? That should be fairly inexpensive and allow me a bit more height for now until I'm ready for tires, gears, and the whole lot. Just another thought...

Gotta agree with you on how 4dr's with 37's look AMAZING. It's all about the money and what you want to end up with. Maybe you should consider a 3" kit?

And idea on a low budget would be get some rubi springs and get a 2" spacer kit. I have a 10 rubi with 2.5" spacer at the front and 2" at the back from rc and i ran spacers from them for a while. I ran 32" bfgs for 6 months and then went to 35s.
