Default Do lower control arm bolts affect alignment in steering? Northridge bolt kit related.

So I have a 4 door stock 2012 Rubicon that I put the Northridge bolt kit on, replacing the Lower control arm bolts and the front and rear track bar bolts. After doing this, the jeep pulls to the right slightly. Took it to a local alignment shop and told them about the bolt kit etc, and they are telling me that the stock bolts had alignment tabs, and they cant adjust anything with these bolts in... I thought the only think the stock bolts had was a tab on it to prevent it from backing itself out? Any insight on this would be great.
Thanks Guys.

the stock bolts dont have tabs.. there regular bolts, undersized for the holes which is why we change them to a better fitting bolt.
the bolts u would need to adjust caster are cam bolts, but they are a bad idea.i would NOT use them. your best bet to adjust caster is getting adjustable control arms.

Thanks for the quick reply guys, do you know what might be causing this pull to the right in my alignment? I only have 5500 miles on it. Driven down fire roads once... Track bar?

did u replace the bolts on the ground or on a lift?
u need to do them on the ground so u don't preload and bind the bushings, like if they were installed on a lift, then the jeep was lowered to the ground.

It was done on the ground in my driveway, I torqued everything down to 125 ft/lbs.

The front lower control arm axle side mounting holes are oval shaped from the factory. It is done this way to adjust your castor. If you look at the outside of the mounting tabs (on the left and right of the hole that the bolt goes through) you will see a raised portion on each side of the hole to allow for a cam washer. Right, wrong or not it is the way it is. If you simply put a bolt through this oval hole you will eventually have problems.

*Edit, pulling to the right could be your caster being out of whack now.

So with the northridge kit, can/should an alignment shop be able to put a cam washer with this new bolt kit to adjust castor? Or would I need to put the stock bolts back in to adjust castor?
Thanks!

Short answer = I dont know, possibly. If you put the stock bolts back in to adjust castor, soon as you take them out castor will be messed up again.

Long answer = About 1.5 years ago I added adjustable control arms. I did the install myslef and re-used all factory bolts. Almost 6 mo later I start getting loose lower control arm bolts, and slight hints of DW. I battled this for almost a year not really considering my lower control arms, just thinking the bolts loosened from trails etc. Well this weekend I put in another set of lower control arms and noticed the oval hole and spot for cam washers. I thought WTF, how come my factory bolts that have been on the jeep this whole time didnt have cam wahsers. I can clearly see where they go, but yet I dont have them.

My solution was to weld a washer over the ovaled out hole (from the factory) and just use my adjustable control arms to make adjustments with.

the cam bolts are replacement bolts, not some sort of special tab used on the bolts... like i said the cam bolts are dangerous and garbage. u can purchase whatever u want, but some quick searching will tell u the same thing im telling u.
