Newbie on JK mods.
Hey guys ,
Im an oversees"Dubai" fan of the JK. Im new to the jks new to the mods i can do. I own a 2012 jk 2dr auto sport bone stock.
There aren't many JK drivers around this part of the world so I hope i can find the info i want from u experienced guys.
I have a 2.5 TF lift kit that ill set up with King racing oem adj shocks. inteding to go with 33 km2, wont be needing 35's or
greater because most of our offroading is deresrt and sand dunes. Now the questions are:
1) Is the 33 bfg km2 compatible with 17in MT Sidebiters ? because i didnt find the 33x12.5x17 size on the bfg official site.
2) Regearing. Based on info i gathered from the forums around, I found that 33 tires with 4.56 will give me a higher RPM than
stock " which i want for an earlier torque delivery". Now to swap the ring and pinion what bearings seals that need to be changed ?
we have a Offroad shop here and the prices are WTFF !!
thats why ill do regearing somewhere else
Your help is much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum
If you can't find the 33x12.5x17s you can also look at this equivalent size 285/75/17 or 295/75/17. Below is a gearing chart to help with your gear selection. 4.56 does seem to give you the needed torque/uuummmppphhhh you need for your Jeep. Will you be doing a lot of sand/dune high speed driving in your area? If so not sure if your stock gearing if it's a 3.21 will be up to task. Maybe a 3.73 will be tolerable...But like what you are intending to do, regearing to 4.56 will be a good choice....

Not sure if this helps or not but...as you said you need a 33" x 12.5" x 17" tire, the website 4wd has them in the same size (285/75/17). These will match up with your Mickey Thompson wheels. The link is here BF Goodrich Tires Part 93994 - LT285/75R17, Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 Tire

My BFGs are 12" wide. If you run in sand at all, you'll want the wider tire more than height.
I've been very happy with my BFG 305/75R17 tires. The width made a lot more difference than I thought it would. Lug size is MUCH larger as are the voids compared to the same height tire but with a width of 285. (approximately 11")

^^^ What he said. I was debating between the 285 vs 305's in width. CerOf talked me into the 305's a while back. Love the 12in width. Mine is a tad taller (KM2 305/70/R17). After being mounted on a 17x9in wheel and at 32psi, I got a 33.5x12in tire.
