Axle Advice SF or FF?
So I've got all my research and estimates together now and holy crap its more than a 2Kjump across the board from semi float to full float. For me, thats gonna be at least 3 months extra of saving up just to jump from a SF to a FF. In everyone's opinion is it really worth the wait to go FF? Should I just go ahead, bite the already expensive bullet, and order a SF? I've had pretty steady advice from people to go FF due to being a decently heavy 4DR and currently running 37's with plans to run 40's. Appreciate the advice and thoughts.
On a jeep TJ that I owned I ran semi-float D60's, I did bend a few shafts and had a lot more axle shaft twist over time, but I never snapped an axle. Not breaking may be in part that I take a much more technical approach to driving, or maybe I just caught the axle shafts during inspections before they broke
Anyway, my issues with the semi-float was the brand of axle housing more than it being a semi-float. Now that JK's are so much heavier than any other previous jeep I would not advise the semi-floats if you are going to slap 40" tires on. I currently run Dynatrac ProRock 60's full floats and it is worth every penny. I would say to just wait a few more months that you needed to save up.

And that will depend solely on the manufacturer's warranty fine print, but most aftermarket axle housing/axle shaft makers will tell you up front that they would not advise running that large 40" rubber donut on a SF axle. Speaking of warranties, its going to be hard to beat Dyntrac's warranty and customer service, just another of the reasons why I switched manufacturers and run ProckRock 60's now.

If you dont mind, could you PM me the quotes you have (or maybe you could give me a ballpark price GCM2), as I would like to budget for the ProRock60's front/rear but dont want to call dynatrac because I will likely give them a CC number over the phone and end up with axles too early...
Much appreciated guys!
