Default Best e-disco/front end skid plate for stock bumper?

Exactly as the title states!

What's your fav design for a front skid and why?

Bonus: Which one don't you like and why?

Considering postponing front bumper purchase if there's a good enough front skid out there. Haven't needed a better bumper yet, but I need a skid there ASAP. That plastic POS hits everything and does nothing.

in all fairness, what you have from the factory is more of an "air dam" than a "skidplate". when i was still running stock, i just pulled it off and called it a day. after 5 years of wheeling, i still have nothing there and have never really seen this to be a problem. in fact, i don't think i've ever come close to hitting my e-disco motor. just a thought.

I have the Rugged Ridge front skid on mine... I took the airdam off shortly after purchase and put the skid on to protect the e-disco motor... 2.5 years later I've never hit that skid on anything and agree with WOL... It provides me peace-of-mind but is not something I would buy again for the simple reason it's never been hit.

Not entirely sure about the 2012, but another option is to rotate the e-disco.

I have the Expedition One Rubi Skid. It requires you to cut off the lower bash bar and rotate the motor up toward the radiator. It really changes the look of the front end.

X2 on body armor 4x4. I have hit mine several times still looks good and the paint holds up only one spot got scratched off from using it to get on a big rock. the wife said change the plastic one out after the 1st trip cause it had a big gouge and dent in the plastic.

All very good food for thought, thanks guys.

I hit that bar pretty hard my last wheeling trip, figured I might want some protection there... If WOL can wheel for 5 years without hitting it, I wonder if I'll even need it. $69.99-$100 is cheap peace of mind though.
