Anybody running the Dynomax VT exhaust for the 2012?
Opinions? Is the advertising true that there is no drone at hwy speeds? Any performance enhancements after install? MPG better or worse, etc etc etc
So on the 2007-11 we saw gains for both HP/TQ in the mid single digits.
Also, we offer our 90 day Sound and Performance guarantee as well. If you aren't happy return it for a refund.
I ordered mine this morning through summit racing.... Its a direct ship from Dynomax through them.... Hopefully I will have it tomorrow or wednesday according to them and they are pretty accurate. Either way, once I put it on I will do my best to get a sound clip. The only clip i could find was one clip on youtube from the JK Forum on a orange 2012. I have a Black 2012 with no other mods other than suspesion and tires. Ill let you know when I get it.

I went with the Banks Stinger kit on 2012 JKU.. Love the sound and picked up 1.5 mph.. Sitting on 35's with 4.56's and getting 18mpg! Not trying to throw the thread, just giving you other options.

Nothing noticeable on power - just feels like you are accelerating more because you can hear it. I didn't really expect to notice anything though, I'm guessing the claimed HP improvement would be the equivalent of one less passenger.
If you go with the VT system, which I do recommend, I would also recommend that you buy a couple of 2.5" U clamps (dynomax makes them in stainless - $16 on Amazon) as they clamp down much better than the ones that ship with it. Use them on the tail pipe and the joint on the engine side of the muffler. Not sure if the 2012 is the same but on the 3.8L the joint on the engine side carries the weight of the muffler and the joint isn't supported by the stock exhaust hangar in that corner. The U clamp on the joint on the tail pipe is needed because it takes a lot of force to squeeze closed the flanges on the tail pipe - the supplied clamp never tightened the joint but the U clamp closed it in seconds.
Oh, and if you don't have one, get a 9/16" DEEP socket. All the clamp bolts (standard and U) out-reach a standard socket head.
