Default RPM Range after regear....

When I purchased my jk it was already regeard and I think it maybe to high for my set up. Right now I have a 6spd with 35s and some extra weight from front and rear bumpers and rock sliders. I'm not 100% sure what size regear was done but I think it has the 5.38s. I still need to figure out which ones it has.

My comment is when I'm going 70mph my RPMs are around 3k. This seems really high. I'm also only getting 15mpg on the HWY and around 16 in the city. Yes it's better in the city.

I'm thinking about going down to 4.88s just for reliability issues and better mpgs.

Check out the charts here under Axles, Gears & Drivetrain…

You can also jack up the rear end, mark a tire and count the rotations on the driveshaft to find the ratio.

Lucky. I have an 09 auto and I'd swap you my axles with 4.10s

I just regeared my 3.8L 6 speed last week to 4.56's but I have 33" tires. At 70 MPH I am exactly on 3000RPM's. I'm guessing you already have 4.88's maby 5.13's although I could be wrong???

If you want to lower your RPMs you could always get bigger tires....
