Default Smittybilt side armor steps.

Installed them last night but not sure about them? I'm guessing once my lift is installed they will look better.
I'm not sure why everyone is so down on these sliders. They are at least 50 lbs each and seem to be built really well! The install required a little modification but what doesn't.

Oh well, guess I'll sell them if the look doesn't grow on me in a few weeks...

Default Looks Good

Those are the same steps i want to get on my 4 door as well. Love the color of your jeep, I had a two door of the same color, got complements on it all the time. Now i have a Crush. What lift are you going with? I have a 4 inch on mine. Steps look good even without the lift. Post pics when you have lift installed, maybe that's the motivation i need to pull the trigger. Thanks.

Still deciding on the lift. What 4" lift did you do? I'm trying to go as big as I can without swapping drive shafts. And inexpensive.. To date I have $434 out of pocket in my build!!!

I got the 4 inch Mopar lift and I did have to replace the front shaft (compliments of the dealership, don't know the brand or make) (link at bottom). The rear one should be fine, is what i read around here somewhere. I got a great deal on it since the dealership had not sold a wrangler in a while, got it installed for free too, they ran into a few issues with the stock tires (the rear passenger tire had no clearance when it when on, hitting rear bar, i don't really remember, but ill look under the Jeep today). So off i go to get rims for the jeep, dealer paid for half of the price, Yeah i was surprised too... I was told it was the first lift the had ever done on a 2012 and they wanted to get it done right. They took some pics and sent them to headquarters so they can figure out why the stock rim wont fit with the Mopar lift kit (), I forgot to ask last time i was there... I'll have to remember to ask next time I'm there. . I was out of a jeep for a few days, but at the end i made out like a bandit. $434 is not bad so far, I have over 3k so far in mine and I've only had it for about 8 months... I slowed down a lot, since the money tree is withering due to this crappy economy... LOL.

How was getting them on? Was there any grinding you had to do? They look sick.

For me the passenger side went on with no issues.. As for the drive side, good Lord! Had to do a substantial amount of grinding on the front hole. Maybe 2.5 hours total for the whole job, but I took a couple of breaks because I was getting so frustrated! All in all though, well worth it. They look great!

Had to grind a little on the front hole of the front mount. Both sides. Pretty easy still.
