Need suggestions for a cheap set of mirrors!
I'm itching to remove my doors but want to get a set of mirrors that will slip into the door hinge and not require any modification to the Jeep or the addition of brackets or other hardware that has to be permently attached... Is there anything available at AutoZone or the like for about $20? Yea I'm cheap! But I also want to be legal... I have heard certain Harley Davidson mirrors will slip right into the hinge, but it seems anything with a HD Logo instantly triples the price! Thanks...
I wouldn't say Harley Davidson is the only choice there is for mirrors that you could use like that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're looking for a mirror that can just slip into the factory hinge and bolt down from the bottom right?
There are plenty of motorcycle mirrors that are just simple circles on bent metal rods that would work like that, but you have to remember if you go on the highway, any speed above 50mph or so is probably going to be so windy it'll push the mirrors inward. Check out amazon or something, they probably have what you need...
I would personally just go ahead and spend the money for some half or tube doors, then buy a set of motorcycle mirrors that come with a clamp for mounting to handlebars, and attach them to the doors like they normally would be on a motorcycle, but that's just me...

Thanks for replying so briskly
. I will definitely be looking into those mirrors within the next couple weeks. Dont wanna put the windsheild mounted mirrors on, everytime I loosen a bolt thats been painted over, seems to have all the paint chip off of it!

I just did fabbed up a mount out of some electrical conduit for a $14.99 mirror from Autozone.
3/4" steel electrical conduit 90* bend: $4 @ Lowes
New longer bolts for the window frame (M8x1.25x45mm) and a longer bolt for the mirror I bought (5/16x18x1.5"): $3
Mirror at Autozone: $15
I already had the black spray paint, but I did have to purchase a new can of primer.
Here are some pics...

It shakes when I hit a bump, but other than that it's solid. It doesn't budge from the wind or anything like that. I love it.
