Default Wheel Choices and Backspace options for Cosmos Blue 2012 - Need Opinions

Hi There - looking for a little advice.

I just purchased a 2012 JKU after owning 2 prior Jeeps for a total of 10 years. This will be my first lifted rig and I want it to look right. Dealership gave me a decent deal after I did my research on both the cost and install on a 2.5 inch AEV lift. I'm running into problems picking the right wheel. I know wheels are highly subjective and everyone has opinions but opinions is what I want at this point. Also have a technical question about the wheels with 4.75 inch Backspacing.

Tire Choice: Goodyear MTR w/K - cheaper than the BFG's, less balloon like and seem to size up appropriately. I plan on rolling this tire regardless of the wheel choice.

My first choice is the AEV Pintler wheel, leaning towards the Argent with 35 inch tires. I'm not sure how good the Argent will look against the Cosmos so if anyone has pics it's greatly appreciated. I'm also looking at the black wheel, but it seems like everyone with a Cosmos Blue rig runs black wheels. Maybe that's telling me something. I'm also considering the Black Pintlers as well, just undecided on colors for these two (Opinions welcome). This is a 17 inch wheel with 4.75 BS so I'm curious if I'll see any rubbing without spacers? O

Second choice so far is the Procomp 7069. All black wheel with 4.75 BS as well, same rubbing question. Wheel is cheaper than the Argents but I do like the look, so here is where opinions are more than welcome.

Last choice would be the MB 72 "combo" with 15 inch wheels and 35 inch Goodyear MTR w/K. This is the cheapest option at right around 1800 installed with all 4 tires. I saw a JKU at the dealership with 17's and it just "looked right" to me. I'm not sure how 15's will fare on a Cosmos JKU and I can't seem to find any pics out there. With all the research this is the safest and cheapest option as I know they won't rub, but I'm just not sure if I like the 15's on a 4 door JKU.

Overall I guess I'm just looking for a little input regarding the BS options and I'm looking more for opinions on the Black versus Argent and 15 versus 17 inch argument if anyone wants to chime in.

Appreciate the feedback!!!!!!!!!

No rubbing with the pintlers and a 12.50 tire. You will rub with a wider tire like the trail grap or toyo.

If you are looking for a less balloon like look, I'd go with the 17's. Also, if you are going to be doing more highway / on road driving than off road, the 17's will fell more stable.

Thank you all for the feedback... anyone seen either of the Pintlers on a Cosmos Blue rig? I can't seem to find any online. I'm leaning towards the argent to break up the blue/black look but everytime I think of my old Grabber Blue Mustang GT I want to do the black wheels. Just not sure what fits that particular color better.

As for Tires I am definitely going with the 12.5 but just not sure if I should use the MTR with Kevlar or the KM2's. I have read that the MTR's run a little truer to size and that you need spacers on the Pintlers to run the MTR's.

To Redroll, one issue with running a factory style bushing on a track bar vs a so called "open" joint is that as you lift the factory style is that as you lift and continue to use the factory brackets the misalignment of the brackets due to the lift will cause bind in the joints and will limit suspension droop. I know for a fact that the teraflex trackball does indeed limit travel. The longer the travel you have the more misalignment you need in the axle end of the track bar joint. Factory style joints do provide a good maintenance free ride but do have limitations when you are increasing droop and rotating the axle.

This had to have been meant for a different thread. Odd....how'd the response even make it over on a 6yo thread

Yes this is odd, it was a reply to the"lift kit options/ choices thread".
