Hello,

I looking for change my gear of 3.73 to 4.88 at one shop the gear with the kits installation is G2 Axle and Gear and at the other shop the gear in the kit is superior axle gear there have a good difference between the price of the two shop but my question is there have a big difference of quality between the G2 Gear and the Superior Axel Gear?

What is you choice G2 Gear or Superior ?

There have been several discussions on this board in regards to this topic. Lots of people run G2 and lots run Superior. You will hear comments that they all come from the same place. I can't remember the exact quote but it is something to the affect that there are only a couple different places the make these parts.

I think you would be safe with either. If I was choosing I would personally go with the Superior. Have read more on them than G2. I personally went with Yukon.

I think what is most important is who does the install. I would be just as concerned about that as I am the gear choice.

I go probably go with G2 there, I wanted to know if is necessary to replace bearing during a change of ratio?

It depends on how many miles you have on the bearings. If it's quite a few then this is a good time to do it because it's open and easy. I changed my gears at 15k and didn't do any bearings. Just a thought.....

 

I have 30 000 Km or 18 000 mile on my 2011 JK

 

I went with g2 gears. Didnt change bearings had 15k on jeep

 

Yukon all the way. I did it. Yukon also has a 1 year warranty on their stuff. Plus they do nominal gear sets...making life a whole lot easier for your installer.
